Christopher A. Kowalski, M.D.

Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Christopher Aaron Kowalski, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who is subspecialty trained in spine surgery. He completed his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Penn State University in Hershey, PA, where he received, on several occasions, the exceptional teaching award, granted to residents who provide outstanding teaching and patient care. Dr. Kowalski then completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the preeminent University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, graduate from the AO Spine Fellowship program, an international organization ensuring excellent education and surgical training in the delivery of spine care.

Dr. Kowalski is member of the America Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the Cervical Spine Research Society, and the Scoliosis Research Society.

Dr. Kowalski specializes in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar problems ranging from disc herniations to complex spinal deformity correction surgeries. His interests include degenerative, traumatic, and oncologic spinal conditions and aims to help patients navigate operative, as well as nonoperative, treatment modalities to help solve their spine problems.

Dr. Kowalski joined the Orthopedic Institute of North Texas (OINT) in September of 2022, bringing his expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery, lumbar spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy/radiculopathy, revision spinal surgery.

Dr. Christopher Kowalski is fluent in Spanish and enjoys providing healthcare abroad on medical mission trips, which he plans to continue throughout his career. Dr. Kowalski enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and four children. He is an avid outdoorsman, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and spends much of his free time hiking, fishing, hunting, and boating. He also likes exercising regularly and playing golf.
