Dr. Justin Kane lectured as an invited guest speaker in the Egyptian Foot and Ankle Society (EGYFAS) Annual Meeting. As a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society - AOFAS , Dr. Kane shared his expert knowledge on Minimally Invasive Bunion Surgery with a distinguished group of international colleagues.
This edition of the international @Egyfas-Ain Shams International Foot and Ankle Congress took place on November 10th-12th in Cairo, Egypt and was cobranded by the AOFAS.

Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons Treat Underserved Patients in Vietnam
"Members of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) returned to Vietnam to care for children and adults with lower extremity deformities and disabilities as part of the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation Overseas Outreach Project to Vietnam. Since the program began, AOFAS members have performed more than 1,500 surgeries and evaluated more than 3,500 patients, all at no cost to the patients."

Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons Deliver Humanitarian Aid in Vietnam
"The Foundation surgeons each spent one week working side-by-side with Vietnamese orthopaedic surgeons, treating children, adolescents, and adults with untreated congenital deformities. The surgeons used basic techniques and instruments to perform surgeries since many resources used to correct foot and ankle deformities in the United States and other developed countries are not available in Vietnam."

International collaboration brings hope to Vietnamese feet
"Forty-five successful surgeries in the last two weeks and 100 more patients to go – this is what the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) has achieved so far in its seventeenth collaboration with the Viet Duc Hospital. A seminar, which aims to provide new information on surgical techniques to Vietnamese doctors, was sponsored by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Viet Duc Hospital, AOFAS and the Mobility Outreach International."

"The study addresses an important cohort of patients with post-traumatic arthritis. Pilon fractures represent a difficult clinical scenario. Many patients ultimately require additional surgery for post-traumatic tibiotalar arthritis."

Calling to help others leads surgeon to Vietnam
"In May, Dr. Kane spent 12 days in Vietnam as part of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Overseas Outreach Project. Through the program, Dr. Kane traveled with other orthopedic surgeons to parts of northern Vietnam to evaluate and treat patients who otherwise would have no access to the care and surgeries they need."
